i would be interested to know if the announcement came of an immenent nuclear war would you start praying or get drunk etc etc..

my wife is considering to let our kids participate, maybe even celebrate their own birthdays.
she says what can be so bad about just giving a little kid (who doesn't yet understand the bible) a day full of joy and happiness?
she herself actually delayed her own baptism as a teenager in order to celebrate one more birthday.
For the most part it's considered a no-no. Your wife will probably get a pass, however, given that you aren't a JW, and as the father, you should reasonably be given some say in whether or not your child celebrates his birthday. They can't do anything to you about it, can they?
I kind of like the third one: Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him.

the other night, the elder was getting us ready for our convention.
as i sat there, i was thinking, 'do you even listen to yourself?
' everything thing he said, said its going to suck.. bring a hat: its going to be sunny, prepared to get sunburned.. bring plenty of water: its going to be hot and sweaty.. parking is going to be bad: prepare to walk a mile to the site.. bring a fm radio: its going to be echoy inside.. .
And every dub in attendance will talk afterwards about how great it was without being able to recite a single point that made it great, or in any way differen't than the countless that have come before it.

I can think of better things to do on a weekend than walk around a JW convention with a camera. This guy really needs to take up golf, or fishing.
i was baptized in 1968. last meeting 2010. i have to say i was never 100% in.
there were times i absolutely believed, but i never really gave it my all.
never liked service, assemblies, meetings.
Up until my early 20's I was. It all changed aroung the mid-90's. It wasn't a subtle or gradual change. I went from no doubts to serious doubts, almost overnight.

So I guess the notion that it was morally reprehensible was foreign to him as well.
